                                       CAMP DIRECTOR  

With 35 years of experience at Richmond Hill Country Club Day Camp, Jay’s passion for camp is truly in his DNA. Over the years, he has held a wide variety of roles, including Counsellor, Drama Specialist, Nature Specialist and, for many years, Program Director. This depth of experience gives Jay a unique understanding of virtually every aspect of RHCC Day Camp.

As Camp Director, Jay plays a key role in communication, policies and procedures, staff recruitment, and leadership development. His extensive background in leadership training supports his hands-on approach as he works closely with the Senior Team to train and equip staff with the skills and tools needed to provide an exceptional experience for every camper.

During the school year, Jay is a principal with the York Region District School Board, bringing extensive experience working with children, families and staff. His work in education and leadership was recognized in 2019 when he was named one of Canada’s Outstanding Principals.

After 35 summers, Jay remains as passionate about camp as ever and is always happy to connect with parents, campers and staff.

                                    ENROLMENT DIRECTOR 

As the Club’s Enrolment Director, Dante plays an integral role in the registration of campers through CampBrain, helping to make the registration and payment process as smooth and convenient as possible for our families.

Summer Camp is just one of the many areas Dante oversees at Richmond Hill Country Club. He has been an important part of the Club for many years, with responsibilities that also include membership services and the tennis department.

Dante is our go-to person for parents who need assistance with camp registration, payments, or their CampBrain account and is always happy to help families navigate the enrolment process.

                                     CAMP ADMINISTRATOR 

Wendy is an important part of the day-to-day administration of Richmond Hill Country Club Day Camp. She assists families and staff with a wide range of camp-related matters, including registration, safe arrival procedures, email correspondence, camper information and staff paperwork.

Throughout the summer, Wendy helps keep many of the administrative pieces of camp running smoothly and serves as a key point of contact for parents, staff and campers. Whether responding to questions, assisting with registration details or supporting the daily operations of camp, Wendy is available to help families navigate the practical side of the camp experience..

        ASST HEAD OF LEADERSHIP AND TRAINING

RHCC Day Camp has been Jamie’s summer home for many years. She has grown up at camp, beginning as a camper before becoming a counsellor, Head of Swim and now serving as Assistant Head of Leadership and Training.

In her current role, Jamie helps guide and mentor the next generation of RHCC Day Camp staff through our CIT program while also working closely with current staff in a mentoring and leadership capacity. She supports staff in developing their skills, building confidence and creating the best possible experience for our campers throughout the summer.

Around camp, Jamie is also affectionately known as “Judge Jamie,” thanks to her frequent role in helping decide the outcomes of camp games, challenges and friendly competitions. Whether she is mentoring staff or making the final call on a closely contested game, Jamie brings a thoughtful and supportive approach to everything she does.

Jamie’s extensive camp experience, combined with her work as a teacher with the York Region District School Board, gives her a strong understanding of how to support both campers and staff as they grow, learn and take on new challenges.

Jamie looks forward to helping campers and staff make the most of their summer, build lasting connections and create memories that will stay with them long after camp ends.

                    HEAD OF LEADERSHIP & PROGRAMMING 

Known around camp as “DJ Mitch,” Mitch has been part of the RHCC Day Camp family for many years. Over that time, he has worked as a counsellor, specialty head, unit head and Assistant Program Director before taking on his current role as Head of Programming & Leadership.

Mitch is often the voice behind some of camp’s biggest moments, whether he is on the mic leading Flag, running lunch games or helping bring special theme days to life. He also works closely with our specialty staff to support programming across camp and is always ready to step in when a camper needs a little extra encouragement or TLC.

Campers also know that no Flag is complete without Mitch getting in a jump or two during our welcome song,  Jump — a tradition he seems just as excited about as the campers are.

When he is not at RHCC Day Camp, Mitch works as a teacher with the York Region District School Board, bringing that same energy, humour and enthusiasm to everything he does.

             HEAD OF LEADERSHIP AND PROGRAMMING

Known around camp as “Gamemaster May,” Mahjoob — or May, as campers and staff know her — is always ready with a game, challenge or activity to bring people together. Over the years, she has held a variety of roles at RHCC Day Camp, including counsellor, Unit Head of Sports Camp and now Head of Programming & Leadership.

In her current role, May brings her energy and enthusiasm to Morning Flag, camp-wide programming, staff leadership and special activities throughout the summer. Whether she is leading an energizer, helping organize a game or supporting staff behind the scenes, she plays an important role in creating the fun and welcoming atmosphere that campers experience each day.

May also brings extensive experience working with children through her role as a teacher with the York Region District School Board, as well as through her own experience as a parent. She looks forward to supporting campers and staff, building connections and helping create memorable camp experiences all summer long.
