Leadership, friendship and fun for today's teens!
Teens love Richmond Hill Country Club Day Camp because it is the best place for socializing with friends while developing key leadership skills to become counsellors of the future. They make some of their best camp memories in the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) leadership program.
This complete summer camp for teens training program is set up for kids who have completed grade 7 or grade 8 and includes courses in growth and behaviour of different age groups. Teens will learn age-appropriate games, crafts, special events for all ages, including gaining experience assisting in a group or in a specialty area. CITs learn how to work with children and staff in a closely supervised environment. The day is structured so that CITs develop team-building skills, learn key components of caring and working with children, gaining experience through placement assignments and scheduled CIT activities organized by our Head of Leadership & Training.
Many of our campers who have grown up with us, find it rewarding to hone their skills as CITs before joining our summer camp staff as a Staff Aide. Our CIT leadership program is designed to strike a proper balance between responsibility and fun. The tradition, skills, teamwork, spirit and friendships are an integral part of our leadership development program that will help teens gain the confidence to participants in camp life as they transition from camper to staff. This program requires a one-month minimum commitment. Upon successful completion of the program, CITs can register for our CIT Booster program for a nominal fee.
